Ecommerce's Monthly Talking Point: April 1999

      Someone Run My Life

Something a bit different this month... an extract from a big, big, big list.

This is a short outtake from a list of things I'd like to be able to get on the web. They're all things I'd pay for. Would you want any of these too? Are you providing any of them? Go to it.

      1
Someone to negotiate contracts for my gas, electricity, phone and TV services. The deals are changing are all the time and I can't be bothered tracking them. You could be my arbitrargeur, switching me from supplier to supplier as the payback graphs morph. Hold onto my phone number but throw me a new mobile service provider if it saves me some money. You can have a tenth of the savings.

      2
Someone skilled, honest and reliable to come round my house and fix stuff for me. You could make a log of all my appliances, how my heating works (if you can figure it out, I may want to write you into my will), where my fuse box is. I'll send you a 'help' signal when I want you. Maybe you can interrogate a device at my end that'll tell you what I want doing, and arrange a good time.

      3
Someone who'll put together a great itinerary for me when I'm going on a business trip. It'll include tickets for shows, some quirky sights to see, some good restaurants to try. Maybe it'll even line up some people for me to meet if I want. I can't get out of travelling, but I can make sure to get the best out of the dead spots.
