Our consultants combine extensive hands-on experience in business systems development with rare business vision. Paul May Paul founded Verista in October 1998, undertaking ecommerce and ebusiness strategy and implementation projects with well-known global companies such as BP and De Beers, and with B2B and B2C ecommerce startups in the UK and US. His recent projects include mobile business proposition development with Siemens, and mobile applications development with BP. A software developer by trade, Paul has been a business technology author, consultant, systems architect and business development executive in the business systems architectures and ecommerce field since 1991. Prior to starting Verista, Paul launched and led the ecommerce practice at ECsoft, a leading European consultancy and systems integration organisation. He and his team were active in a range of business sectors, including finance, retail and transport and offered services from business and technology strategy through architecture, design, implementation and deployment. Paul has a BA from Oxford University and an MSc from City University. He is the author of The Business of Ecommerce: From Corporate Strategy to Technology (Cambridge University Press, 2000) and Mobile Commerce: Opportunities, Applications and Technologies of Wireless Business (Cambridge University Press, 2001).
Brendan Dunphy
Brendan leads Verista's multi-channel strategy consulting
stream.
A former developer and project manager of complex business
systems, Brendan became a consultant at LBMS in 1984, where his clients
included the Ministry of Defence and the London Stock Exchange. He went
on to become the Sales & Marketing Director of LBMS, leading a team
of around 15 sales and marketing staff operating from 4 UK offices.
He later led the 100-plus strong UK consulting force and developed a
pan-European network of distributors and agents.
Brendan joined Andersen Consulting (subsequently Accenture) in 1993 to lead its application development tools marketing activities across Europe. Here his challenge was to develop and implement a coherent marketing strategy for all the major European markets, consistent with the Andersen global product positioning. He moved on within Andersen to become Director of Development at a new technology research facility, the European Centre for Strategic Technology based in Sophia Antipolis, France. His first challenge was to develop the $12 million DAVINCI programme on the Virtual Corporation, conducted in partnership with Microsoft, Intel, SAP and other leading IT firms. It was as a result of this programme and over 200 client workshops with senior executives from across Europe, that Brendan gained his in-depth insights on the impact of digital convergence and the challenges these posed for managers. Brendan launched his own independent consulting firm in 1997 to develop his ideas and approaches to the Internet, e-commerce and emerging digital communication channels. In September 1999 he co-founded Extend Solutions Ltd., where as CEO he helped firms leverage their existing assets into the emerging digital e-conomy and to accelerate and focus their disparate new technology channel investments. Clients have included the UK’s Post Office and National Lottery Commission. He also sits on the European Advisory Board of Nordfirst Ventures, a European VC fund focused on the Scandinavian marketplace for wireless technology, applications and services.
Michael Airey Michael leads Verista's proposition development activities, combining techniques from marketing and technology disciplines with practical insight into business dynamics. Prior to joining Verista, Michael was Channel Manager at Xtempus, a wireless solutions software company. At Xtempus he was responsible for building relationships with the "big 5" management consultancies and global systems integrators, and also contributed to the company’s marketing strategy. Michael has over 18 years experience in sales and account management roles in the technology industry, in both product-focused and services-oriented organisations. At Ernst and Young, Michael won and managed a number of strategic projects in the financial sector and developed longstanding relationships with clients at board level, notably at Norwich Union and a major finance company. While at ECsoft, a burgeoning European Systems Integrator, Michael was instrumental in leading the company into the CRM market place by establishing a relationship with a US CRM software vendor and delivering a system to a European Airline. He managed relationships with two major financial services organisations and was responsible for setting up the e-business practice and winning early assignments. Michael has also taken on pioneering roles with small start-up organisations where he has been involved in the development of the product and marketing strategies and was responsible for winning early contracts. His vision for wireless is complemented by a strong track record of delivery during successive waves of technology innovation.
